Man Utd were desperate to sell one player this summer as damning report sums his current situation up

Manchester United were desperate to sell one player this summer, but there are no takers, according to a damning report.
Man United have reinforced their squad ahead of the new season, with the club signing Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee.
The Red Devils remain in the market for new talent ahead of the summer transfer deadline.
Erik ten Hag is also keen to trim his squad, with the likes of Mason Greenwood, Donny van de Beek, Anthony Martial, and Raphael Varane all departing Old Trafford. Antony has also been the subject of intense transfer speculation, with a shock club registering their interest in a deal for the Brazilian winger.
Casemiro has been linked with a move away from Man United, too. It comes after a disappointing campaign last season, as he received criticism from fans and critics alike for his performances in a Red Devils shirt.
Even though he’s traveled to the United States for their pre-season tour, Man United had hoped to sell the veteran midfielder. That’s according to The Telegraph, who claim the club were banking on selling him to help fund a new midfielder. But, as things stand, there have yet to be any takers for the 32-year-old, according to the report.

Saudi Pro League clubs have expressed an interest in signing Casemiro, but nothing concrete has been tabled so far. He made 32 appearances across all competitions last season and was dropped for the FA Cup final.
Erik ten Hag was asked about his ruthless decision, to which he replied: “You have to make choices, what was needed for that particular game. But he is a very important player. He is a leader, and he can make a difference for our team. No one can play every game. It’s impossible.”
Asked if he expects the former Real Madrid star to stay at Man United, Ten Hag said: “All the players who are there, if they want to play for us and they have the quality, then I hope they keep contributing to our team. We have seen that Casemiro in his career is so successful. In the previous season, he was so important to achieve all the success we had there. So, when he is on this level, he is a very impactful player for us.”
