Arsenal’s summer transfer window has been relatively subdued, with only two permanent signings confirmed: defender Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna and former loanee David Raya from Brentford.
However, recent reports from TeamNewsAndTix suggest that Arsenal is preparing a significant offer to acquire Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. The proposed deal involves sending out-of-favor goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale to Newcastle in a player-plus-cash exchange.
The outlet noted, “The clubs aren’t really clear on it but they just feel that Newcastle aren’t out of the woods in terms of finances.” They added, “If they’re not, we could be looking at a deal with them for Bruno and Ramsdale going the other way.”
Despite having several goalkeepers on their roster, including John Ruddy, Mark Gillespie, Martin Dubravka, Odysseas Vlachodimos, and Nick Pope, none are considered to be of Ramsdale’s caliber. Ramsdale, who would still be Arteta’s first-choice keeper if not for David Raya’s standout season, is now seeking a new club for more playing time.
