Jamie Carragher makes bold Premier League prediction as fans can’t genuinely believe his top six
Jamie Carragher has made a daring prediction for the Premier League, ahead of the upcoming season, which has surprised Manchester United fans.
As the 2024/25 Premier League season approaches, with less than a week to go, Manchester City will be looking to defend their title following last season’s remarkable success.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will be aiming to improve and secure their first championship since 2004, having finished behind City in consecutive seasons. Meanwhile, Liverpool, under the new management of Arne Slot, who replaced Jurgen Klopp, and teams like Aston Villa, Tottenham, and Manchester United will be striving to build on their performances from last season.
Ahead of the new season’s kickoff, Carragher has shared his prediction for the top six teams.
He has backed Manchester City to secure their fifth consecutive league title, with Arsenal in second place.
Despite uncertainty surrounding Slot, Carragher expects his former team Liverpool to finish third, ahead of Tottenham.
The Liverpool legend forecasts that Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United will finish fifth, behind Aston Villa, who clinched a top-four spot last season. Carragher’s prediction sparked a lot of discussion online, with some Manchester United fans confident they will secure a top-four finish.
One X user commented, “Liverpool will struggle in the second half of the season. He should be more concerned about that.”
Another said, “Mark my words, Liverpool will be 5th or 6th.”
A third remarked, “He’s ranking a team above us that just spent £65 million on Solanke.”
A Manchester United fan stated, “I love this… we’ll definitely revisit this.”
Another Red Devils supporter added, “I think we’ll finish 4th. Spurs may have a more balanced starting 11, but we’ll have a stronger squad by the end of this transfer window.”
