Same Ai super computer that predicted 2022 World Cup winner just predicted the 2024/25 premier league winner
As the eagerly awaited Premier League season prepares to begin this Friday, the Opta Supercomputer has unveiled its predictions for the final standings of the 2024-25 season.
Leveraging advanced AI tools to run 10,000 season simulations, the supercomputer has projected how the league table might appear at the season’s conclusion.
Opta Supercomputer predicts Premier League 2024/25 outcomes
According to Opta, Manchester City are the clear favorites to win the Premier League title for a record fifth consecutive year, with an impressive 82.2% chance of finishing first.
This forecast highlights the club’s recent dominance, supported by their talented squad and consistent performances.
Arsenal are expected to secure second place for the third straight season, with a 48.8% chance according to the supercomputer. Mikel Arteta’s team remains strong contenders, but they are predicted to once again fall short of overtaking Manchester City.
Liverpool are predicted to finish in third place with a 40.2% chance. Despite undergoing a managerial change with Arne Slot succeeding Jurgen Klopp, the supercomputer anticipates that Liverpool will remain within the top 4, though they might not close the gap to the top two.
The competition for the fourth spot is expected to be intense, with Chelsea (19.5%), Newcastle United (17.5%), Manchester United (12.9%), and Tottenham Hotspur (11.8%) all vying for the position. The supercomputer suggests that this spot will be hotly contested.
At the lower end of the table, the supercomputer predicts a tough season ahead for the newly promoted clubs. Leicester City, Ipswich Town, and Southampton are all expected to face relegation back to the Championship.
