TERMS AGREED: Man United have reached the final stage of negotiation to secure the signing of Euro 2024 best player, agreement reached last night after Man united accepts to trigger player’s release clause

Manchester United has entered the final stage of negotiations to secure the signing of the Euro 2024 Player of the Tournament. An agreement was reached last night, with United deciding to trigger the player’s release clause.
Manchester United’s current squad includes several wingers, such as Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Amad Diallo, and Facundo Pellistri. However, aside from Garnacho and, to a certain extent, Diallo, the other players struggled to make a significant impact last season.
As the new season approaches, manager Erik ten Hag is placing considerable faith in Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, hoping they can return to top form. If these players fail to perform, United may face another frustrating season with weak performances on the wings.
One possible solution could be to bring in an established winger who can make an immediate impact. According to the Spanish outlet SPORT, the player who has caught United’s attention is Barcelona’s Raphinha.
The 27-year-old Brazilian winger, who has spent two seasons with Barcelona, has expressed his desire to stay at the Catalan club this summer. However, Barcelona finds itself needing to sell players, and Raphinha is among those who could command a substantial fee.
To make room for Raphinha, Manchester United is reportedly open to offloading Jadon Sancho and Antony during the summer transfer window. Both players joined the club for considerable fees, but their time at Old Trafford has been marked by inconsistency and off-field issues.
United has set a price of £40 million for Sancho and is willing to consider offers in the region of £25 million for Antony. If these sales are completed, United would raise £65 million, which would be enough to meet Barcelona’s valuation of Raphinha, estimated at around £51 million.
Raphinha is no stranger to the Premier League, having previously played for Leeds United under Marcelo Bielsa. While moving from Leeds to Manchester United might raise some eyebrows, the fact that he wouldn’t be making a direct move from Leeds to Old Trafford might ease concerns.
During his time at Barcelona, Raphinha has been a consistent performer, even if he hasn’t received the same level of recognition as some of his teammates. A move to Manchester United could give him the platform to establish himself as one of the world’s top creative wingers.
Whether the deal is completed this summer remains to be seen, but it could be a pivotal move for both Raphinha and Manchester United.
