Now That We Know The Exact Amount To Bring In Our Target, We Have To Cut Our Losses And Let Him Go For Just €5m” – Manchester United Are Closing In On Their Third Summer Signing As The Exact Fee Has Been Disclosed. Ruthless In His Approach, Jim Ratcliffe Is Set To Offload A Major Player For Just €5m.

Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing of Noussair Mazraoui, with the fee agreed upon with Bayern Munich now revealed. Sir Jim Ratcliffe plans to help fund this move by selling a key player for just €5m.
The Red Devils are deep into what appears to be a transformative summer transfer window as Ratcliffe seeks to restore Manchester United to the top tier of English and European football.
Despite winning the FA Cup last season, their eighth-place finish in the Premier League and early exit from the Champions League highlighted the need for substantial squad changes.
TEAMtalk reports that United could see at least four, and possibly up to seven, new signings before the summer window closes, with a similar number of high-profile departures expected.
Ratcliffe has already spent £88.7m on Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro, two highly regarded young European talents. However, he also aims to add a right-back, midfielder, center-back, right-sided attacker, and left-back to the squad.
Mazraoui is poised to join United after choosing them following the collapse of his move to West Ham. Initially, United valued him at €15m (£12.7m), but due to West Ham’s agreement with Bayern, they increased their offer. The deal will cost United an initial €17.8m (£15m), with potential bonuses bringing the total to approximately €23.7m (£20m).
Mazraoui is expected to sign a three-year contract with an option for a fourth year, potentially keeping him at Old Trafford until 2028. Despite his high salary demands, personal terms are not anticipated to be an issue, with a salary similar to his current €153k a week (around £130,000).
Mazraoui could finalize his transfer soon and join his new teammates in the United States, where he may feature in United’s high-profile friendly against Liverpool in Colorado on Sunday.
Mazraoui will reunite with Erik ten Hag, his former coach at Ajax. At Bayern, neither Mazraoui nor Ryan Gravenberch made a significant impact, and now both could face each other as Mazraoui joins United.
With Mazraoui’s arrival, United will sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka, likely to West Ham for around £15m. Discussions of a swap deal with Inter Milan involving Denzel Dumfries are off the table due to the Mazraoui deal.
United are also looking to sell Christian Eriksen, who is available for just €5m (£4.2m) this summer. Eriksen, who joined on a free transfer in 2022, has fallen down the pecking order under Ten Hag.
With one year remaining on his contract, United see his sale as pure profit and a way to offload his £150,000 a week wages. Ajax and Anderlecht are among the clubs interested in Eriksen, who has made 72 appearances for United, scoring three goals and providing 13 assists.
