This Season Is A No Joke Season, If He Wants To Remain In This Team, If You Want To Play For United You Have To Be Up And Doing If Not I Will Axe You Out Of My First Team”. Ten Hag Blast United Star After Horrible Display Against Fulham.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag expressed his concerns over missed opportunities despite his team’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Fulham in their Premier League opener. Although the win was a positive start, the match left many fans at Old Trafford feeling disappointed as United struggled to create and capitalize on chances throughout the game.
The breakthrough finally came late in the match when substitute Joshua Zirkzee, making his debut, scored the decisive goal. However, Ten Hag emphasized the need for his team to be more clinical, particularly in finishing games when opportunities arise in the penalty box.
“We need to improve in our ability to kill games in the box,” Ten Hag stated. “This has been a recurring issue, as seen in our friendlies and the Community Shield loss to Manchester City. We created enough chances and shouldn’t have to rely on a late winner. We must be more composed and decisive to finish off teams.”
Ten Hag acknowledged that the slow start might be due to the early stages of the season, with players still working to find their form. Nevertheless, he expressed confidence in the team’s attacking potential, noting that there are plenty of capable goal scorers within the squad.
Zirkzee’s winning goal, a well-taken strike from a cross by Alejandro Garnacho, came as a relief. Ten Hag praised the Dutch forward, highlighting his recovery from injury during his time at Bologna, which kept him out of the European Championship for the Netherlands.
“We still need to work on certain aspects of his game,” Ten Hag said. “But he brought qualities that were missing, and he showed them right away. His ability to link up in combination play is a great fit for our team. Now, he needs to consistently get into the box and score goals, and he did that tonight. It’s fantastic to see a striker come in and score on his debut—he’s a Manchester United player through and through.”
