LIVERPOOL

Arne Slot has stated that if he continues to play the Liverpool star, it could cost them the league title. He made it clear that as long as he is Liverpool’s manager, the player will never start again unless he is dismissed from his position. Slot expressed his dissatisfaction with the player’s style of play.

Arne Slot has emphasized that the level of play seen in the first half against Ipswich Town is unacceptable moving forward.

As noted by Lewis Steele on X (formerly Twitter), the Dutch manager expressed his displeasure during the post-match press conference.

This comes after Slot’s bold decision to replace Jarell Quansah with Ibrahima Konate at halftime, aiming to strengthen Liverpool’s aerial game.

The Reds improved notably in the second half, highlighted by Konate’s dominance in the air, winning 4 out of 5 duels against the Blues.

An early message from Slot

This wasn’t the first, and likely won’t be the last, time Liverpool has struggled in the first half.

However, we are impressed with the early choices made by our new head coach, ensuring that Liverpool secured the victory in Suffolk.

It’s worth mentioning that Jarell Quansah still has a bright future at Anfield and wasn’t particularly poor against Kieran McKenna’s side.

Nevertheless, Slot’s decision to bring on Konate to handle aerial challenges and control the game proved to be a wise move.

The standard has now been established, both for performances that will please our new head coach and those that need improvement.
