This possibility has been brought up by Ronaldo’s former United teammate, Louis Saha. Saha, who played alongside Ronaldo at Old Trafford for four years, believes he understands why Ronaldo could eventually come back to the club, albeit in a different capacity.

Speaking to TVSporten, Saha shared his belief that Ronaldo’s unrelenting passion for football might lead him back to Manchester United, not as a player, but possibly in a coaching or managerial role. According to Saha, Ronaldo’s deep connection with the club and his love for the game could drive him to return and share his vast experience with younger players.

Reflecting on Ronaldo’s second stint at United, Saha acknowledged that it did not end as hoped. Ronaldo’s frustration was clear, particularly because he couldn’t find the same winning mentality or passion among the younger players that had once been a hallmark of the club. Saha suggested that Ronaldo’s disappointment likely stemmed from the noticeable contrast between his fiery spirit and the lack of it in those around him.

Nevertheless, Saha is confident that if Ronaldo were to take on a coaching or managerial position, he would adjust his approach. Known for his intensity and directness, Ronaldo might learn to communicate differently, possibly in a less confrontational manner, which could be more effective in a leadership role. Drawing parallels to other former players-turned-managers, like Roy Keane, Saha believes that Ronaldo has the potential to succeed in this new chapter of his career. With his extensive understanding of football, Saha sees no reason why Ronaldo couldn’t excel as a manager.

Interestingly, Ronaldo has previously expressed little interest in a coaching career. In 2019, while still with Juventus, he told DAZN Italy that becoming a coach wasn’t on his radar, though he didn’t rule it out completely, saying, “Never say never.” At the time, he mentioned that coaching wasn’t something he planned to pursue, but admitted that his mindset could change if he ever felt bored or in need of a new challenge.
