Arne Slot is reportedly targeting Palmeiras midfielder Luis Guilherme as his first signing after joining Liverpool, according to recent reports.

Liverpool was initially linked with Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso and Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim for the managerial role, but they ultimately chose Slot.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed Slot’s move to Liverpool, mentioning that the negotiations covered his salary, the makeup of his backroom staff, and the length of his contract. The initial contract might not be long but could be extended later.

Romano also provided details on the financial aspects, revealing an upfront payment of €9 million with potential add-ons totaling €2 million, and an additional €13-15 million for the entire backroom staff, to be paid within a year.

As for Slot’s transfer plans, Spanish outlet Nacional reported that he has set his sights on signing Palmeiras’ promising young talent, Guilherme, who has drawn comparisons to Ronaldinho due to his impressive skills.

While Liverpool is prepared to offer around €20 million for the 18-year-old midfielder, Palmeiras is holding firm on their €50 million asking price.
