Liverpool are on the lookout for a high-quality right winger to eventually take over from Mohamed Salah, and reports suggest Bryan Mbeumo is open to moving to Anfield.
The Cameroonian international has showcased his talent in the Premier League with Brentford and is ready for the next step in his career.
According to L’Equipe, both Liverpool and Newcastle United are interested in signing Bryan Mbeumo. The French media outlet reports that Mbeumo is keen on joining a club like Liverpool. He commented:
“I spent five seasons at Brentford, at a club that helped me grow and turn a corner. But yes, I want to play in the biggest competitions, for the best clubs. It’s still exciting to see some of the big teams interested in me. We’ll see.”
Mbeumo played in every Premier League match during the 2022-23 season and contributed directly to 17 goals. In the 2023-24 season, despite missing three months due to an ankle injury, he was impressive when fit. He started 22 games, scored 9 goals, and provided 6 assists for Brentford under Thomas Frank.
Mbeumo’s current contract with Brentford runs until 2026, and according to The Mail, he earns about £50,000 per week.
