Exclusive: Man City are getting ready for a ‘£200 million spending spree’ with FOUR targets named, including the Bundesliga winner

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, is preparing for significant changes to the team ahead of next season, with the club potentially investing up to £200 million during the next summer transfer window, according to sources from CROWDED STAR

Already the reigning Premier League champions, City have made strides in securing some of football’s brightest talents. One notable acquisition is Claudio Echeverri, who is set to join in early 2025 after a £12.5 million deal was finalized in January, allowing him to remain with River Plate for the rest of the year. Despite this, plans are still underway to bring in additional reinforcements.

Guardiola is expected to have even more funds available in the coming months, building on the significant spending spree that saw over £200 million spent on Josko Gvardiol, Matheus Nunes, Jeremy Doku, and Mateo Kovacic following City’s historic Champions League triumph.

One of the primary targets for City is Lucas Paquetá of West Ham United, who is close to completing a move to the Etihad Stadium. This follows a failed £80 million transfer deal last year, which collapsed due to an FA investigation into possible betting rule violations. Additionally, Jamal Musiala has emerged as a key target for City, with the Bayern Munich star netting 19 goals in 36 appearances this season. However, securing a deal for Musiala is expected to be difficult, as Bayern are reluctant to part ways with him after losing the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen.

Crowned Star sources also indicate that Guardiola has his eye on two other midfielders: Bruno Guimarães of Newcastle United and João Neves of Benfica, who have solidified their roles as defensive midfielders for their respective teams. The addition of up to three new signings could further bolster City’s squad before the start of the next season.

Manchester City is also in the midst of an FA Cup run after defeating Chelsea to reach the final, despite being knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid. The club remains open to new acquisitions as they plan for future success.

Meanwhile, GMS sources suggest that interest is growing in Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva as the transfer window approaches. City may face bids for the two stars, prompting the club to prioritize midfield improvements. Together, De Bruyne and Silva earn a combined £700,000 per week, and potential suitors are preparing offers to lure them away.

Should either Bruno Guimarães or João Neves arrive at City this summer, Rodri will face increased competition for his starting position. However, the Spanish international is likely to retain his role even after the window closes.
