Despite his potential, the Wrexham-born defender found himself further down the pecking order, leading the club to decide that he would benefit from gaining regular first-team experience elsewhere. Throughout the summer, Beck had the opportunity to participate in some of Liverpool’s pre-season activities. He featured in two friendly matches during the club’s tour of the United States, playing against Real Betis and Arsenal. While these appearances demonstrated his skills and potential, they also highlighted the stiff competition he faces in securing a regular spot in Liverpool’s starting lineup. Given his situation, Liverpool’s management, alongside Beck, concluded that a loan move to Blackburn Rovers would provide him with the valuable experience and regular playing time needed to continue his development.
