đ¨â˝Mason Greenwood has opted to switch his nationality today following Gareth Southgateâs decision not to select him, and he will now represent one of the top national teams.

Mason Greenwood is contemplating reviving his international career with Jamaica following Manchester United’s decision to part ways with him.
Although he has previously played for England at the senior level, Greenwood is still eligible to change his allegiance to Jamaica.
Greenwoodâs club situation became clearer after Manchester United decided to end their association with the 21-year-old, a decision influenced by the conclusion of legal proceedings related to allegations against him.
While Greenwood was not cleared of the alleged offenses, the Crown Prosecution Service concluded that there was no longer a reasonable prospect of conviction.
Several clubs, including Roma, have expressed interest in Greenwood, with loan moves being considered as the preferred option.
Greenwood has also looked into potential loan moves to clubs in Italy, Germany, Turkey, and Spain, among others.
Despite his extensive experience at the club level, Greenwood has limited experience at the senior international level.
His England debut in September 2020 was overshadowed by a violation of Covid-19 quarantine protocols, leading to his removal from the squad.
England manager Gareth Southgate was reportedly open to giving Greenwood another chance, but the player was not selected for subsequent squads.
Although Greenwood was included in Englandâs provisional squad for Euro 2020, he withdrew due to illness.
With uncertainty surrounding his international future, Greenwood has the option to play for Jamaica, a country where he has familial roots. The Jamaica Football Federation has shown interest in recruiting him, and Greenwood has been seen wearing the national teamâs tracksuit.
FIFA rules permit players to change their international allegiance if they have not played more than three senior international matches before turning 21.
Greenwoodâs single appearance for England came when he was 18, allowing him to represent Jamaica if he chooses.
In essence, Greenwood’s exit from Manchester United has opened new opportunities for his international career, with Jamaica emerging as a potential path forward.
As he considers his options, Greenwood might choose a fresh start with a new national team, after previously representing England at the senior level.
