Despite the allure of these financial rewards, many top European players, especially those at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola, prefer to remain in Europe, where they compete at the highest levels and win trophies.
Mateo Kovacic, for example, has become a crucial part of Manchester City’s squad, starting three consecutive Premier League matches and consistently delivering strong performances. At 30, the Croatian international continues to show he has a lot to offer at the top level, particularly after helping City secure the Premier League title last season.
However, CBS Sports reports that Al-Nassr and Cristiano Ronaldo are eyeing Kovacic as a potential “transformational” signing. Ronaldo, having played alongside Kovacic at Real Madrid, is reportedly advocating for his move to Al-Nassr. The Saudi club is said to be prepared to offer Kovacic a weekly salary exceeding $1 million (ÂŁ759,650) to lure him, with a potential transfer targeted for January.
