Erik ten Hag ‘warned’ he has only this number of games to save his Man United job
According to club insiders, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has communicated to Erik ten Hag his disappointment in their start to 2024/25.
Although Manchester United scraped a 1-0 win over Fulham on opening day, they were beaten by Brighton and Liverpool quite humiliatingly.
According to club insiders, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has reportedly expressed his dissatisfaction with Manchester United’s sluggish start to the 2024/25 season in a direct conversation with head coach Erik ten Hag. Despite a narrow 1-0 victory over Fulham on the opening day, the subsequent defeats to Brighton and Liverpool, both of which were humiliating, have intensified pressure on the Dutch manager.
Sources at *Give Me Sport* now claim that Ten Hag has been given an ultimatum, with just four games to turn the team’s fortunes around. If the situation does not improve, INEOS, Ratcliffe’s company and key stakeholder in the club, will not hesitate to begin the search for a new manager, despite Ten Hag signing a contract extension over the summer.
Having spent £200 million on new signings in the transfer window, United’s board initially planned to give Ten Hag until the end of 2024 to prove his worth. However, Ratcliffe’s patience appears to be running thin, and he now expects significant improvements following the upcoming international break. The next few matches will be critical in determining Ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford.
