Trent Alexander-Arnold ‘submits bid’ to buy football club from one of Europe’s top five leagues in crazy development

Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold has reportedly made a bid to acquire a football club in a surprising development.
The right-back’s contract situation at Anfield remains uncertain as speculation over his future continues to grow.
However, there is news regarding the England international’s next steps in a business capacity, with L’Equipe reporting that he is aiming to take over Ligue 1 side Nantes.
Alexander-Arnold is already a minority shareholder in Formula One team Alpine, being part of a high-profile syndicate created by Otro Capital alongside Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney, Anthony Joshua, and Rory McIlroy.
Now, he is eager to venture into the French football market with Nantes, who currently sit fifth in Ligue 1.
According to Get French Football News, businessman Waldemar Kita has owned the club since 2007 but has grown frustrated with the situation and the financial issues the club has faced.
The report states that the 25-year-old’s father, Michael Arnold, manages his business interests through a London-based investment firm, and initial contact between the Arnolds and Kita took place via a video call last summer.

Since then, they have met in person in both Geneva and London, with the proposed takeover deal being valued at €100 million.
The arrangement is said to consist of an €80 million upfront payment and a seller credit of €20 million.
The fee would need to cover most of Kita’s losses from his investment in the club, which could present challenges.
Nantes have denied any such talks with Alexander-Arnold and his family.
If a takeover happens, Alexander-Arnold would become one of the youngest owners in world football, following in the footsteps of Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé.
Earlier this summer, Mbappé, also 25, became a majority owner in Ligue 2 club Caen.
