LIVERPOOL
BREAKING NEWS: Reporting live from Anfield, Arne Slot want to bring England’s biggest star at Liverpool. Liverpool’s recruitment team pushing Arne Slot to sign top Premier League star next summer.

Liverpool’s recruitment team is encouraging manager Arne Slot to pursue Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi for the 2025/26 season as a potential successor to Virgil van Dijk. With Van Dijk’s contract set to expire in 2025 and no new offer on the table yet, Liverpool is preparing for the future by identifying replacements for their iconic centre-back. Although a short-term extension for Van Dijk is anticipated, the club recognizes the need to plan ahead.
According to *Football Insider*, Liverpool’s recruitment staff sees Guehi, a 24-year-old England international, as a strong fit. Guehi has already attracted interest from several top Premier League clubs and was linked to Liverpool in the recent transfer window, though no deal was reached as Slot was satisfied with the defensive options at the time.
While Van Dijk’s contract situation remains a priority, Guehi is being seriously considered as a long-term replacement. However, if Liverpool chooses to make a move for him, they will face competition, particularly from Newcastle United, who made multiple bids for the defender in the summer, the highest being £65 million, all of which Crystal Palace rejected. Newcastle is expected to renew their interest, and other clubs may join the race if Guehi continues his strong performances.
Seen as one of the Premier League’s rising centre-backs, a move to a club like Liverpool could provide Guehi the opportunity to reach his full potential at one of England’s “big six” clubs.
