Cole Palmer’s free kick stood out as the highlight of the goals during a frenetic first half where Chelsea and Brighton traded six goals at Stamford Bridge.

Fabian Hurzeler’s team opened the scoring in the seventh minute with Georginio Rutter, but the excitement was far from over.

Palmer leveled for Chelsea in the 21st minute, and just three minutes later, Jadon Sancho’s goal was disallowed for offside by VAR.

Three minutes after that, Chelsea earned a penalty, which Palmer slotted home for his second goal.

Chelsea’s number 20 then completed another hat-trick, with his third goal being a standout.

Chelsea was awarded a free kick from 25 yards, which Palmer expertly curled over the wall with his right foot.

The ball soared into the top right corner, with Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen managing to get a fingertip on it but failing to stop it.

Incredibly, Palmer went on to score a fourth goal at Stamford Bridge before the half-time whistle, leaving Brighton struggling to handle him.

At 22 years old, Palmer is continuing the form from his stellar 2023/24 season, where he netted 22 goals and provided 11 assists in the Premier League.

In just five and a half games this season, Palmer has already tallied six goals and four assists.
