Vinicius Jr aimed at Marcos Llorente and Koke in heated Madrid derby as unseen footage emerges
New footage has surfaced showing Vinicius Junior in a heated confrontation with Marcos Llorente and Koke during Sunday’s dramatic Madrid derby.
A late goal from Angel Correa helped Atletico secure a 1-1 draw, but the main highlight came in the second half when objects were thrown at Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
This led to both teams being taken off the Metropolitano pitch, and the match was briefly halted.
Aside from those unpleasant scenes, another major moment was the tense exchange between Koke and Vinicius Junior, who had gone down after a challenge from Robin Le Normand.
Koke was displeased with the Brazilian’s reaction and approached him to voice his displeasure.
Soon after, Vinicius directed a clear insult at the Spaniard. According to Mundo Deportivo, he said: “I have two Champions Leagues, you have nothing.”
Atletico defender Jose Gimenez attempted to defuse the situation, but Vinicius kept repeating his point. “Yes, two, you nothing.”
The tension didn’t end there. Real Madrid’s number seven was also seen exchanging words with Marcos Llorente.
“He can’t talk to me,” Vinicius remarked, as reported by Planeta Real Madrid. “You talk to people so they applaud you. Talk to him, pathetic. That’s why you’re here, to play. Because you have to be here to play.”
Llorente calmly responded: “I don’t care.”
After the game, Koke reflected on the temporary suspension of the match rather than his on-field spat with Vinicius.
“It was a tense moment,” he acknowledged. “But this shouldn’t happen in football. We are professionals and must know where we are and act wisely, but the other incidents should never occur.”
He further stated: “Players must be smart. The protocol was clear that if it happened again, the game would be abandoned.”
In the early hours of Monday, Atletico Madrid released a statement saying they had identified one of the individuals who threw objects onto the field.
“Atletico de Madrid condemns the throwing of objects from a section of the south stand during the 68th minute of the match against Real Madrid,” the statement said.
The club’s security team, in coordination with the police, had identified one of those responsible, as per the statement.
“The club will enforce the internal measures reserved for very serious incidents against those involved. Such behavior has no place in football and damages the reputation of a stadium that hosted more than 70,000 fans, the vast majority of whom displayed exemplary conduct.”
