During their visit to France, Real Madrid was sluggish and failed to establish control throughout the match. Although they didn’t suffer greatly, their lackluster display clearly had a negative impact.
According to the Spanish outlet Defensa Central, the coaching staff, led by Carlo Ancelotti, has analyzed the early matches of the season with worrying results, particularly concerning Arda Güler. Güler has been one of the standout players showing the most drive and character in the recent Champions League fixture.
Davide Ancelotti, who holds a crucial role in the coaching staff, is a strong advocate for giving Güler more playing time. While his father, Carlo Ancelotti, has the final say, Davide has already communicated to him that the team needs Güler on the field. Davide believes Güler’s presence is crucial, highlighting that the player’s performances “deserve more” and that he “changes the course of games.”
Güler attempted to prove this in the 20-plus minutes he played at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy against Lille. Although there were expectations for him to start, those plans were altered, leaving questions about his future role in the lineup.
