While this decision could benefit his form, it was not well received in France.

Philippe Diallo, president of the French Football Federation (FFF), addressed the issue, emphasizing that the decision not to call up Mbappé was based on his overloaded schedule and does not reflect a lack of commitment to the French national team. He assured the public that the situation was discussed with both Deschamps and Real Madrid’s medical staff, and there was no cause for concern regarding Mbappé’s loyalty to France.
