Leading this chase” – Journalist says Arteta really wants Arsenal to sign this”exceptional” Brazilian star, he’s said to be the Game Changer
Under the guidance of Edu and Mikel Arteta, Arsenal has placed a strong emphasis on securing their long-term future and is now reportedly eyeing one of South America’s most exciting talents. Along with Real Madrid and Chelsea, Arsenal is closely tracking Vitor Reis, an 18-year-old centre-back from Palmeiras whose standout performances in Brazil have garnered attention from several top European clubs.
According to reports, Arsenal’s interest in Reis is being led by Edu, although the pursuit has not yet reached a stage where Arteta needs to personally convince the player to join the Emirates. With a move to Europe appearing inevitable, Reis is expected to follow in the footsteps of fellow Palmeiras exports like Endrick (Real Madrid) and Estevao Willian (Chelsea).
In an interview with *GIVEMESPORT*, Jacobs revealed that while Arsenal is eager to sign Reis, they face stiff competition from Chelsea and Real Madrid, both of whom are also tracking the young defender. Edu has reportedly been leading the charge for Arsenal, and while Arteta is involved, the club has not yet made a formal pitch for the player.
Reis, who made his senior debut for Palmeiras earlier this year, has been highly impressive in Brazil’s Serie A, with 15 first-team appearances and two goals this season. Described as “exceptional” by Football Talent Scout Jacek Kulig, the versatile defender can play across the backline, including at right-back, making him an attractive prospect for European clubs. Despite being sidelined with a muscle injury in August, Reis is expected to continue his rise as one of Brazil’s brightest young stars.
