Flick is mer.ciless: He doesn’t want him to play another minute with Barcelona after being kicked out of the team اترك ت
Hansi Flick has made several decisive moves at Barcelona, and so far, his decisions have proven to be successful, as seen in the team’s impressive performances under his leadership. Barcelona currently tops the La Liga table with 24 points after winning eight matches and losing only one, against Osasuna.
According to a report from *El Nacional*, one of Flick’s bold decisions was to force Vitor Roque to leave the club. Flick, much like his predecessor Xavi Hernandez, quickly determined that Roque did not possess the qualities needed to be a regular or even a useful player for the team. Roque’s underwhelming performance in pre-season training and friendly matches led to Flick’s frustration, and he advised club president Joan Laporta that selling the player would be the best move. Flick recommended recouping the €30 million fixed and €30 million variable fees that were paid for Roque based on the recommendation of former sporting director Deco.
Roque, once seen as one of South America’s brightest football talents, attracted interest from clubs like Sporting Lisbon, Lazio, Newcastle United, and Porto. Despite this, the 19-year-old Brazilian striker refused a permanent transfer away from Barcelona. He also turned down offers from Saudi Arabian clubs Al Hilal and Al-Ettifaq, choosing instead to remain in La Liga on loan to gain experience and develop his skills, convinced that he could eventually succeed at Barcelona.
Roque joined Real Betis on loan, where he initially showed promise by scoring a goal in his first few matches. However, his form quickly faded, and despite numerous chances given to him by coach Manuel Pellegrini, he has struggled to regain his competitive edge and is no longer a key player for the Andalusian club.
Doubts are now growing about the wisdom of Deco’s decision to sign Roque, who may be regarded as one of Barcelona’s most significant transfer disappointments in recent years. With Robert Lewandowski expected to leave at the end of the season, it still appears unlikely that Roque will return to Barcelona, as Flick has made it clear he does not want to work with the player again and believes the club should find a buyer for him as soon as possible.
