With only Antonio Rüdiger available, currently on international duty with Germany, Ancelotti is struggling to rebuild his defense. The 59-year-old coach, who is not relying much on Jesús Vallejo after testing him earlier this season against Deportivo Alavés, has come up with a surprising solution.

According to *Mundo Deportivo*, Ancelotti has decided to move Aurélien Tchouaméni into central defense until the injured players return. The French international, who was named captain of the national team against Israel in the Nations League, has previously performed well in central defense. Ancelotti believes that Tchouaméni will fill this role effectively after the international break, especially as Camavinga and Dani Ceballos are expected to return from injury and help in midfield.

“Of course, I prefer to play in midfield, but I always try to give my best for the team,” Tchouaméni said in a recent interview, where he also emphasized his readiness to play outside his usual position if necessary for the benefit of Real Madrid.

Camavinga and Valverde to support Lucas Vázquez on the right

Ancelotti’s other significant decision involves the right-back position, which has been left vacant by Carvajal’s injury. The coach may turn to Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde to cover the role. Camavinga has previously filled in on the left, and Ancelotti believes he can have a similar impact on the right, despite the different positions.

Another option is Uruguayan midfielder Federico Valverde, who is known for his stamina and versatility.
