“I cried so hard when he told me he would be leaving us by January. Without him, we’re useless on the pitch,” Zinchenko broke down in tears during a press conference, as another key Arsenal player confirmed his departure by January—not Saka or Martinelli.

Forgotten Arsenal star no longer in Mikel Arteta’s future plans

An Arsenal player is no longer part of Mikel Arteta’s future plans and is set to exit the club during the January transfer window.

It’s been revealed that a forgotten Arsenal player is no longer in the manager’s plans and is expected to leave in January.

After returning from a largely unsuccessful loan spell at Real Sociedad, Kieran Tierney seemed almost certain to leave Arsenal during the summer transfer window.

However, when the left-back sustained a tournament-ending injury during Scotland’s Euro 2024 group stage match against Switzerland, which ended in a 1-1 draw, Arsenal’s plans for Tierney were put on hold due to his hamstring injury.

Although Tierney has since recovered, he has yet to make the matchday squad this season, and some have even forgotten he’s still an Arsenal player.

According to reliable Arsenal journalist Charles Watts, the 27-year-old is no longer part of Arteta’s plans and is expected to leave soon.

Speaking to *CaughtOffside*, Watts said: “Kieran Tierney is NOT in Mikel Arteta’s plans anymore. There is no bad blood; he understands the club has moved on and that his qualities as a left-back are not what Arsenal need in their current system.”

“Tierney is continuing to work towards full fitness after the terrible hamstring injury he suffered at the Euros. If that injury hadn’t occurred, I’m sure Tierney would be playing for another club by now.”

“He’s likely to look for a move in January, likely on loan, to get some game time ahead of the summer when he can aim for a permanent transfer.”

Despite his injury-plagued career at Arsenal, Tierney has remained a fan favorite, and many supporters have expressed sympathy over the latest developments regarding his future.

One fan said: “I think it’s totally disrespectful for a player who was our best player during the tough times. It’s harsh, and I get that it’s just how it goes, but some players seem to be treated more leniently than others,” on X (formerly Twitter).
