After an initial statement on TF1, Master Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard spoke again on Wednesday to address the complex and omnipresent situation surrounding Kylian Mbappe. On BFM TV, the lawyer for the Madrid striker shared new revelations.

The news around the 25-year-old Real Madrid star is intense. A few months after leaving PSG, with whom his relationship is completely severed due to the bonus and salary issue of about €55 million, Kylian Mbappe is facing some difficult times. Since last week, the forward has been heavily criticized for choosing to stay with his club rather than joining the national team. To make matters worse, the Bondy native, who used a few days of rest to travel to Sweden, is now involved in a serious case of assault and abuse following a complaint filed by a woman.

Mbappe tracked in Sweden?

Although Kylian Mbappe’s name has not yet been directly mentioned by Swedish investigators, who have confirmed receiving a complaint, the Swedish press is adamant: it is the Madrid player who is the target of the complaint. On TF1 this Tuesday, Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard, the lawyer for the 25-year-old player, spoke out to share her version of the situation. On Wednesday, she continued on BFM TV, as reported by RMC Sport. During the show “Le Live Switek,” Mbappe’s lawyer stated that her client is the victim of “a plot” since his trip was meant to be discreet.

“Regarding his private life and schedule, I have a few factual remarks to make. He made this small trip to Stockholm, and surprisingly, while these trips—when they happen, because they are very rare, as he has very little vacation—he is mostly training and playing matches rather than taking getaways here and there,” explained the lawyer before adding more.

“When he went to Stockholm—because there are always quite strong security conditions around him—a paparazzo and a newspaper (Aftonbladet) released the information and his photo. He was followed; someone knew he was going to Stockholm. Coincidentally, the same newspaper released information that a complaint had been filed,” said Master Marie-Alix.

“The prosecutor’s statement says nothing.”

Later in the interview on Wednesday, Mbappe’s lawyer criticized the media coverage of the complaint. “In Sweden, the secrecy of the investigation is absolute, far from what we know in France. The prosecutor’s statement said nothing. Therefore, it was not the justice system that caused this information to leak, nor the police. They hold the secret tightly. I am not here to speculate. I note that this complaint was made public in real-time.”

“They were several in Stockholm—and since there are 10,000 cameras in a hotel, so much the better. We have seen through other cases that have recently affected athletes abroad, thanks to hotel cameras and corridors, we can know very precisely what did or did not happen,” added the lawyer from KM9.

It should be noted that the French lawyer for Mbappe does not hide her belief in a conspiracy theory. While awaiting the Swedish prosecutor to formally identify Kylian Mbappe as the person officially concerned by the complaint, Marie-Alix announced the preparation of a complaint for slanderous denunciation.
