Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane continues to be linked with the surprising possibility of becoming Manchester United’s next head coach.
Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has praised Zidane’s greatest asset as a manager, emphasizing his ability to bond with players in the dressing room.
Zidane, who has been out of a managerial position since leaving Real Madrid in 2021, has recently been rumored to be in the running to replace Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
Although Ten Hag remains at the helm and is preparing to lead United against Brentford this weekend, he is under mounting pressure to turn around the club’s poor form, which includes five consecutive games without a win and three league matches without scoring.
With Thomas Tuchel’s appointment as England’s new manager, the pool of elite coaches available has narrowed. Zidane, whose managerial career has so far only involved Real Madrid, has been linked to the Manchester United job multiple times in the past.
In 2018, however, his agent, Alain Migliaccio, played down the chances of Zidane coaching in England, citing his disinterest.
Despite this, speculation about Zidane potentially taking over at Old Trafford remains persistent. If he were to do so, Casemiro, who played 205 matches under Zidane at Madrid, scoring 26 goals and providing 19 assists, has already spoken about Zidane’s leadership approach.
Back in 2017, Casemiro pointed out that Zidane understands players on an individual level, recognizing their changing emotions, and knows how to address them accordingly. He identified this as one of Zidane’s key strengths in creating a connection with his teams.
