Martin Odegaard Nears Return: Positive Injury Update for Arsenal Captain
Arsenal fans have reason to be hopeful about the fitness of club captain Martin Odegaard, who has been out with a serious ankle ligament injury. The 25-year-old midfielder has missed the Gunners’ last seven matches after sustaining the injury during international duty with Norway last month.
Despite Odegaard’s absence, Arsenal has managed to maintain their unbeaten streak this season, securing four consecutive wins following a 2-2 draw with Manchester City in late September. Norway manager Stale Solbakken provided an encouraging update, stating that Odegaard is making “great progress” in his recovery, though he is not yet fit to participate in this month’s international fixtures.
While a definitive return date has not been set, Odegaard has been seen training individually, utilizing an anti-gravity treadmill to aid his recovery. This machine helps reduce the strain on joints and muscles during running, allowing players to regain fitness more comfortably.
Odegaard himself has expressed optimism, noting that he’s made “really good progress” and feels improvement each day. He aims to return to the pitch soon but stressed the importance of pacing his recovery to ensure it is thorough.
It remains unclear if Odegaard will be available for Arsenal’s upcoming matches against Bournemouth and Shakhtar Donetsk later this month, but he could be eyeing a return for the critical Premier League showdown against league leaders Liverpool on October 24. Fans are eagerly awaiting their captain’s comeback to help continue Arsenal’s strong start to the season.
