Mika Biereth, currently playing as a striker for Sturm Graz, has expressed interest in a potential future return to Arsenal, the club he left last summer.

The 20-year-old Danish forward, who had difficulty establishing himself at Arsenal, remains hopeful about one day wearing the Gunners’ shirt again.

Biereth originally joined Arsenal from Fulham in 2021, but his time at the club did not go as smoothly as planned.

He struggled to break into Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad and was eventually loaned out to several clubs to gain more experience and playing time.

These loan spells included time at RKC Waalwijk in the Netherlands and Motherwell in Scotland before he moved to Austrian side Sturm Graz, where his performances have been impressive enough to secure a permanent move.

In a recent interview with TV2, Biereth reflected on his time at Sturm Graz and shared his ambitions.

He emphasized his satisfaction with his current situation, saying, “Things are going well here; I have no complaints.

I’m playing regularly and now competing in the Champions League, where I’m eager to score my first goal.”

Despite his focus on his current club and performances, Biereth admitted that he would welcome a return to the Premier League, particularly to Arsenal, if the chance arose.

However, he made it clear that his primary focus is on continuing to perform well at Sturm Graz for the time being.

“If I keep performing well and scoring, maybe an opportunity will arise.

But right now, my priority is to excel at Sturm Graz.

A return to Arsenal would be fantastic, but it’s not my immediate focus,” Biereth added.

His remarks suggest that while the dream of rejoining Arsenal is alive, it’s not something he’s expecting to happen right away.

The possibility of Biereth’s return to Arsenal, however, remains uncertain.

Mikel Arteta has shown confidence in the club’s current attacking options, with players like Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and Leandro Trossard at his disposal.

This depth in the forward positions was one reason Arsenal did not make a significant move for a new striker in the last transfer window, even though they had been linked with other high-profile forwards like Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak.

There has also been ongoing speculation regarding Gabriel Jesus’ long-term future at the club due to his recurring fitness issues and his place in the starting lineup, which could potentially create an opportunity for Arsenal to look for additional forward options down the line.

However, for now, the club does not appear to be actively seeking a new striker.

While Biereth’s return to Arsenal is not on the immediate horizon, his current form at Sturm Graz and future developments at the Emirates Stadium could potentially open the door for him to make a comeback.

If he continues to perform well and develop as a player, Arsenal may take notice, and Biereth could one day find himself back in North London, ready to contribute to the team’s success.
