Arsenal fans have voiced their frustrations after the team’s shocking 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth, with much of the criticism directed at one particular player. The loss, which came in Arsenal’s first match after the second international break of the season, unfolded at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday evening, where goals from Ryan Christie and Justin Kluivert sealed Bournemouth’s victory.

The turning point of the game came in the 30th minute when Arsenal star William Saliba was sent off for a foul on Evanilson, denying him a clear goal-scoring chance. The red card forced Mikel Arteta to bring on Jakub Kiwior in defense. However, after Arsenal conceded a second goal, Kiwior was controversially subbed off just 44 minutes after coming on, sparking outrage among Arsenal supporters.

Fans quickly took to social media, particularly X (formerly Twitter), to vent their anger. One fan commented, “Kiwior subbed in and then subbed out, kid is never playing for Arteta again,” while others echoed similar sentiments, predicting that Kiwior’s future at the club is in doubt.

Kiwior, who joined Arsenal from Spezia Calcio in January last year, has struggled to cement a place in the first team, making just 42 appearances. Saturday’s result marks Arsenal’s first loss of the 2024/25 season and prevents them from moving to the top of the Premier League table ahead of Manchester City and Liverpool.

With a crucial fixture against Liverpool next weekend and Saliba suspended, Arsenal’s title aspirations could be severely impacted by the defeat.
