FC Barcelona has set its sights on Kaoru Mitoma, the 26-year-old winger currently playing for Brighton in the Premier League. The Japanese international has caught the attention of Barcelona’s scouts due to his ability to destabilize defenses, score goals, and create opportunities from the left wing. Despite the club having other priorities, such as signing a defensive pivot, the need for a left-sided winger has become urgent following Ansu Fati’s departure.
According to *Mundo Deportivo*, Mitoma is highly regarded for his versatility, excelling with his left foot and performing as a complete winger. His quick changes of direction, precise shooting, pace, and ability to use both feet make him a standout player. Additionally, his aerial prowess adds value to his skillset.
Mitoma was signed by Brighton for four million euros in 2021, with his contract running until 2025. While a possible transfer is speculated for next summer, particularly if his contract isn’t renewed, his price tag is expected to be high, as Brighton is known for tough negotiations when it comes to letting players leave.
Barcelona is currently assessing their transfer options, and the potential addition of Mitoma is generating excitement within the team.
