š„šļøATTENTION ARSENAL FANS Expert shares opinion on Riccardo Calafioriās injury during Arsenalās victory, raising concerns about an ACL issue. Calafiori had to leave the field during Arsenalās 1-0 win against Shakhtar.

A sports injury expert has provided an update on Riccardo Calafiori, who is suspected to have sustained a knee injury during Arsenalās 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk. This victory at the Emirates Stadium brought Arsenalās total points in the Champions League group stage to seven out of a possible nine.
Despite the positive result, concerns were raised when Calafiori experienced knee discomfort in the second half. Although he attempted to continue playing, he was eventually substituted for Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Following the incident, footage of Calafioriās leg twisting awkwardly as it hit the ground sparked fears among Arsenal supporters of a potentially serious knee injury. Fans speculated that the left-back might have suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.
However, injury analyst Physio Scout offered a different perspective, suggesting that the way Calafioriās knee moved indicated a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury rather than an ACL tear.
According to the analyst, the physio on the pitch performed a valgus stress test to assess the MCL, a common procedure for diagnosing such injuries. While further medical scans are required to confirm the diagnosis, there is hope that it could be a minor to moderate MCL sprain.
In the event that Calafiori has sustained a Grade 3 MCL injury, he could face up to 10 weeks on the sidelines. Arsenal, along with manager Mikel Arteta, will be closely monitoring his condition in the coming days, especially with a crucial match against Liverpool approaching. Calafioriās absence would likely force him to miss the game.
Arsenalās defensive lineup is already stretched thin, with William Saliba unavailable due to suspension and both Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu nursing injuries.
Although Oleksandr Zinchenko could be an option for the left-back position, he has only recently returned from a calf injury that kept him out of action since mid-September and did not feature in the match against Shakhtar.
