Former Barcelona boss Xavi Hernández has reportedly set his sights on managing a Premier League club following his decision to step down from Barcelona at the end of the season. After leading the club for three years, securing a La Liga title and a Supercopa de España, Xavi is now considering his next career move. According to SPORT, while the 44-year-old is inclined to take a break from football to recover from the pressures of managing Barcelona, he remains interested in an “exciting project” in the Premier League.

Manchester United has emerged as a possible destination for Xavi, with the future of current manager Erik ten Hag under scrutiny. Reports from *The Times* indicate that United is evaluating Ten Hag’s position, and a decision regarding his tenure could be forthcoming. Xavi’s availability has sparked interest, but it remains uncertain whether the club would pursue him as a replacement.

Meanwhile, another rumored candidate for the United job, Thomas Tuchel, appears to be out of contention. After a recent meeting with Sir Jim Ratcliffe in Monaco to present his vision for the club, Tuchel reportedly left believing that the position wouldn’t be his should Ten Hag be dismissed.

Ten Hag, returning from his break, remains committed to his long-term project at Manchester United. Following their FA Cup victory over Manchester City, he emphasized the team’s growth but acknowledged the need for further improvement, stating, “We’re building a team for the future. We’ve had successes, but we need to keep progressing.”

As speculation swirls, the potential for Xavi to take on a Premier League role adds an interesting dynamic to the situation. The coming weeks may shed more light on whether Xavi or another candidate will take over at Old Trafford.
