Barcelona is enjoying an outstanding season under German coach Hansi Flick, who has transformed the Catalan team, making them a feared opponent this year.

Barcelona achieved a dominant four-goal victory over its traditional rival Real Madrid in the Spanish League’s eleventh-round match held at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. According to the Spanish newspaper “El Nacional,” Flick is highly satisfied with this emphatic win and the impressive performances from all his players.

The report highlights that Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong particularly impressed Flick, as his introduction as a substitute played a pivotal role in changing the course of the match. Flick did not anticipate the immediate quality and impact De Jong brought to the field; his composed passes and ability to absorb pressure effectively disrupted Real Madrid’s midfield.

The newspaper noted that Flick spoke to De Jong after the match, assuring him he would retain a starting position in Barcelona’s lineup following his historic display against Real Madrid. De Jong is expected to replace Spain’s Fermin Lopez in the coming matches, as Flick envisions Pedri, De Jong, and Casado as forming Europe’s best midfield trio, unmatched by any other.
