🏟️🔥Arteta is indeed a ‘BABY COACH’ if not How on earth will you introduce such player in a crucial game like that,if care is not taken He might be the next person to be sack after Ten Hag”, Rio Ferdinand reveals the TWO wrong decisions Arteta made yesterday
Mohamed Salah’s second-half goal ensured a thrilling 2-2 draw between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners took an early lead when Bukayo Saka, making his return, scored emphatically past goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher. However, Liverpool equalized with a header from Virgil van Dijk off a set piece.
Mikel Merino, starting his first Premier League match at home, restored Arsenal’s lead with a header from a free-kick, leaving the hosts ahead at halftime.
But injuries to Gabriel and Jurrien Timber led to a more defensive approach from Arsenal, and they were punished in the 81st minute when Salah calmly slotted the ball past David Raya, securing a point for Liverpool and maintaining manager Arne Slot’s unbeaten away record.
Saka spoke to Sky Sports after the match, expressing disappointment: “We’re a bit frustrated. Credit to Liverpool; they are a great team, but we feel we didn’t show our best selves for the full 90 minutes.
“In the first half, we displayed our qualities, dominated the game, and limited their chances. They only scored from a set piece, and I didn’t think they had another opportunity. In the second half, we dropped back a bit and weren’t at our best. Liverpool gained momentum, won more duels, and controlled possession, which naturally shifted the momentum in their favor, forcing us to defend more.”
Regarding Gabriel’s injury, he acknowledged its impact but stressed that it wasn’t an excuse: “He’s a key player for us, but we need to adapt and do our best, regardless of who is on the pitch.”
On his goal, Saka reflected: “I hate missing games, and it was really frustrating to watch from the sidelines. I had this match in mind and did everything I could to be back for it. I try to keep the keepers guessing; I haven’t seen the goal back, but it felt like a nice finish.”
