A Trent Alexander-Arnold defensive stat emerged after Liverpool’s big win over Brighton as fans all made the same point about Arne Slot.
Liverpool came from behind to beat Brighton 2-1 at Anfield on Saturday.
Ferdi Kadioglu opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a terrific goal.
But in the space of three second-half minutes, the Reds turned the game on its head.
Cody Gakpo levelled proceedings before Mohamed Salah curled home a stunning left-footed strike into the back of the net to make it 2-1.
Despite not scoring, assisting or keeping a clean-sheet, Alexander-Arnold’s performance at the back got Liverpool fans online talking.
After the game, a stat highlighting his dominant defensive display emerged on social media.
Per a post from TNT Sports, Alexander-Arnold won nine tackles, won 12 duels, registered two interceptions and produced two clearances.
His showing at the back seemed to dispel the myth that he can’t defend as fans claimed Slot has improved the star player’s defensive side since his appointment.

One X user wrote: “Klopp made us see his awesome offensive skills. Now Slot is bringing the defensive side into focus. He was never a bad defender. He was just used more offensively.”
A second said: “Defensively f**king solid under Slot. But it’s absolutely no surprise his assists and goals aren’t the same.”
A third added: “Slot somehow managed to swap his attacking and defensive ability.”
Another commented: “9 tackles is mentalll, Slot sacrificed his offensive game for defence.”
Alexander-Arnold has shone for Liverpool this season and he’s helped his side reach the top of the Premier League at this early stage.
On going top, Slot said: “It’s more if you play against Arsenal in their stadium and you can get a draw away from home.
“Brighton are a very strong team as well, they have shown this season. If you face a team like this and are 1-0 down and can come back to a 2-1 win which in my opinion was deserved that gives me a lot of confidence. More than the position we are in.”
