Manchester United
⚽️🗞 “If I lead Manchester United to the Champions League, I hope to have the fans’ support in bringing Mason Greenwood back to the team. He’s a player I’ve always respected, and I believe both the fans and the club can play a role in helping him rebuild,” Ruben Amorim states live from Old Trafford.

Manchester United are reportedly exploring the option of loaning out Brazilian winger Antony during the January transfer window, with the potential for a permanent move next summer.
The 24-year-old, who joined the club in 2022 for a significant fee of up to £86 million, has struggled to meet expectations following his record-breaking transfer. Under Erik ten Hag, Antony’s playing time has decreased notably this season, prompting questions about his future at Old Trafford.
Antony’s signing was heavily influenced by Ten Hag, who previously coached him at Ajax and believed the winger could bolster United’s attack. The deal, which included £82 million in guaranteed payments, ranks as one of the club’s most expensive transfers. However, this price tag has been a point of contention, particularly since earlier evaluations during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tenure had valued Antony at £25 million, with the club reluctant to exceed £60 million at the time.
Since arriving, Antony has struggled to consistently justify his high cost. Though he initially showed flashes of brilliance, his overall impact has fallen short. This season, his diminished role has been underscored by the standout performances of Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Amad Diallo, who have taken precedence in wide attacking positions.
Even with the departures of other wingers like Jadon Sancho, Omari Forson, and Facundo Pellistri, Antony has played only 139 minutes across all competitions this season, with his sole start coming in a Carabao Cup game against Barnsley. His limited impact has fueled speculation that United may look to loan him out to help him regain confidence and form.
A loan move in January could provide Antony with consistent playing time and an opportunity to rediscover the form that made him a star at Ajax. For United, this would offer a chance to evaluate whether he has a future at the club or if a permanent transfer would be a better way to recover some of their considerable investment.
As the January transfer window nears, Antony’s fate at Manchester United remains uncertain, but a loan move could give both the player and the club a much-needed fresh start.
