Paul Robinson Criticizes Chelsea’s Attitude Following Ipswich Defeat
Former Premier League goalkeeper Paul Robinson has voiced strong criticism of Chelsea’s players after their 2-0 loss to Ipswich on Monday night. Speaking on *5 Live*, Robinson highlighted what he described as unnecessary complaining and rude behavior on the pitch, even after the match had ended.
“This team still has petulance,” Robinson remarked, emphasizing the need for passion to be channeled effectively during the match rather than through post-match disputes.
This isn’t the first time Chelsea’s attitude has come under scrutiny. Earlier in the year, former West Ham striker Carlton Cole highlighted a penalty dispute during Chelsea’s 6-0 win over Everton as an example of poor on-field behavior. While Chelsea’s performances have improved recently, Robinson believes such issues persist and require urgent attention.
The team’s youthful energy, while valuable, has also led to avoidable mistakes like unnecessary arguments and yellow cards. Robinson singled out Marc Cucurella, Enzo Fernandez, and Nicolas Jackson as repeat offenders in this regard.
He acknowledged Chelsea’s recent progress but stressed that maturity remains a significant hurdle for the team. To move forward, Robinson advised players to focus their emotions on the game itself and avoid disruptive conduct, particularly after the final whistle.
