He’s Arsenal’s biggest problem’: fans slam one player after his disastrous performance against Brighton

Arsenal’s title hopes took another hit as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton at the Amex Stadium. An early goal from teenager Ethan Nwaneri gave the Gunners the lead, but Joao Pedro’s second-half penalty ensured the points were shared.

The result left Arsenal fans frustrated, particularly with midfielder Mikel Merino, who faced heavy criticism online.

Supporters voiced their displeasure with Merino’s performance, with some questioning the club’s decision to sign him in the first place:

– *”I’m sure Merino doesn’t even know why we bought him.”*

– *”The season was lost with that pathetic summer window. Merino is so far from an Arsenal midfielder it’s painful.”*

– *”Merino was a terrible signing.”*

Others took aim at Arsenal’s midfield combination, highlighting it as a major issue for the team:

– *”Arsenal can’t have a midfield of Merino and Declan Rice and expect to win anything. Such a low-quality midfield.”*

– *”Merino is Arsenal’s biggest problem.”*

The draw leaves Arsenal trailing league leaders Liverpool by five points, with the Merseyside club still having two games in hand. Fans are now questioning whether the squad has the quality and depth to maintain a title challenge as the season progresses.
