🔥🏟️LiverpoolRoy Keane dishes out hilarious putdown of ‘Tranmere’ Trent Alexander-Arnold after his first-half display against Man United at Anfield as ex-Red Devils captain slams ‘schoolboy’ defending
Keane has delivered a scathing assessment of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s defending during the first half of Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United. The Liverpool defender endured a challenging 45 minutes, being bypassed with ease on several occasions, leaving his side vulnerable.
One of the early moments of concern came when Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot effortlessly got past Alexander-Arnold, delivering a dangerous cross towards Amad Diallo. Fortunately for Liverpool, Diallo failed to capitalize on the opportunity.
Later, Alexander-Arnold was again at fault, this time keeping Rasmus Hojlund onside after a ball was played over the top. The Danish striker found himself in a promising position but was ultimately denied by Liverpool’s goalkeeper, Alisson.
Speaking about Alexander-Arnold’s performance, Roy Keane did not hold back during his analysis on Sky Sports. The outspoken pundit said, “It’s too easy, just a couple of balls over the top. Trent’s defending, it’s like schoolboy stuff.”
Keane went on to mock the recent links between Alexander-Arnold and a potential move to Real Madrid, adding, “Talking about going to Real Madrid, he’ll go to Tranmere Rovers after this.”
Keane’s brutal remarks reflect the widespread criticism Alexander-Arnold has faced for his defensive performances, despite being praised for his attacking prowess. Liverpool will hope their full-back can tighten up his defensive game in the second half to help the team in such a critical match.
The first half highlighted once again the areas Alexander-Arnold needs to improve to consistently compete at the highe
st level.
