The reliable Spanish newspaper “El Nacional” reported that Real Madrid has already begun negotiations to secure a major deal that could deal a severe blow to their traditional rival, if successful.

Barcelona is going through difficult times after the team’s performance and results declined following an ideal start to the season, in addition to the crisis surrounding Dani Olmo’s failure to register with La Liga, which has cast a shadow over the club.

For its part, Real Madrid is seeking to strengthen its squad, as the team has started to regain its balance and secure victories after a fluctuating start to the season, surpassing Barcelona in the La Liga standings and narrowing the gap with league leaders Atletico Madrid to just one point.

Turning back to Barcelona and Dani Olmo, everyone remembers Joan Laporta’s great interest in signing Nico Williams after his remarkable brilliance with the Spanish national team at Euro 2020. However, this interest did not turn into an official signing, and the player opted to stay at Athletic Bilbao.

According to the same newspaper, Real Madrid has already initiated negotiations with Nico Williams to sign him in the summer of 2025 as a potential replacement for Rodrygo Goes in the team’s lineup.

Nico Williams’ contract with Athletic Bilbao includes a release clause of 58 million euros, an amount that aligns with Real Madrid’s financial capacity, making him well within the club’s reach.

Williams (22 years old) has great potential in the left-wing attacking position and has an impressive record with Bilbao, having played 145 matches, scored 22 goals, and provided 31 assists.
