Liverpool target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has potentially dropped a major transfer hint after following Virgil van Dijk on social media.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Liverpool could be tempted to make a move for the 23-year-old should he decide to leave Napoli in January.

It’s reported that while Liverpool aren’t actively looking to sign a winger, progression over a deal with PSG could see Arne Slot’s side make a move.

The French club are said to be the favourites to sign Kvaratskhelia, he remains a target for both Liverpool and Chelsea.

Kvaratskhelia has two years remaining on his contract at Napoli and with no progression in talks over a renewal, several clubs are starting to circle.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of their FA Cup tie with Accrington Stanley, Slot addressed the rumours.

Slot said: “What I make of that is it is January. I think I said it after the West Ham game that don’t disappoint me, please come up with all these clubs and all these players that are in the interest from us or the ones that don’t play a lot for us are going to go somewhere else! Yeah, that’s what’s happening now.

“Nine out of 10 times, 99 times out of 100 times in the end of the window, it’s been clear that almost all of these stories weren’t true. So, what can I comment about it? That the rumours keep going for it, but no comments from my side.”
