HERE WE GO! Man United’s board bows to fans pressure agree £122m fee to sign Europe most in-form striker, player’s unveiling already scheduled

Ruben Amorim is reportedly being encouraged to use a Manchester United player in a potential deal to secure Alexander Isak from Newcastle United. Gary Pallister, a former Manchester United defender, believes Amorim would benefit from acquiring a proven goalscorer as the club’s current options, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, have struggled to impress.
Hojlund, a £72m signing, has shown promise but scored just two league goals this season, while Zirkzee’s inconsistent form has sparked speculation about his future only six months after joining. Amorim is also rumored to be considering a move for his former Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, though that deal is expected to take place in the summer.
Isak, however, has been outstanding for Newcastle, scoring 10 goals in his last nine appearances. Despite Newcastle valuing him at over £100m, Pallister suggests a swap deal involving Marcus Rashford, who recently hinted at seeking a “new challenge,” could make the transfer feasible.
While Manchester United faces competition from Arsenal for Isak, the Swedish striker’s versatility and form have caught the attention of several top clubs. Some pundits, including Tony Cottee, have even compared Isak’s qualities to those of Thierry Henry, emphasizing his ability to transform a team’s attack.
The race for Isak’s signature could see significant developments as Arsenal and Manchester United weigh their options in the upcoming transfer window.
