NewsLiverpool in discussion to sign Bayern Munich ace Kimmich as the Reds get Joshua Kimmich transfer confirmation…

Liverpool is reportedly in discussions to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich, as per German journalist Tobi Altschäffl.
Kimmich, who joined Bayern from VfB Stuttgart in 2015, has established himself as one of the world’s top midfielders, playing a crucial role in the club’s success across major competitions. The 29-year-old has also been a key player for the German national team. However, with his contract at Bayern set to expire at the end of the season, speculation about his future has grown.
Altschäffl shared on X that Liverpool is exploring the possibility of signing Kimmich, potentially taking advantage of his contract situation. A formal offer from Liverpool may soon follow.
While Manchester City has shown interest in Kimmich, he is reportedly not their priority as they focus on younger midfield options. Meanwhile, Kimmich is weighing his options, with a contract extension at Bayern Munich remaining the most likely outcome.
Liverpool, having previously signed Wataru Endo to strengthen their midfield, has struggled to find consistency in the defensive midfield role. Endo featured prominently under Jürgen Klopp but has played less under new manager Arne Slot, with Ryan Gravenberch frequently deployed in the No. 6 position this season.
Last summer, Slot had prioritized signing a defensive midfielder, targeting Martin Zubimendi, who ultimately stayed at Real Sociedad. Kimmich’s experience and abilities align well with Slot’s possession-based style, making him an excellent addition should Liverpool move forward with the transfer.
As Liverpool advances to the Champions League round of 16 following their win over LOSC Lille, they prepare for their Premier League clash against Ipswich Town. It remains to be seen whether they will take decisive action to secure Kimmich’s services.
