Liverpool maintained a six-point lead at the top of the Premier League with a convincing 4-1 win against Ipswich Town at Anfield.

 

 

 

Cody Gakpo scored twice, while Dominik Szoboszlai and Mo Salah also found the net, contributing to a comfortable win.

 

 

 

However, the Reds will be disappointed not to have kept a clean sheet, as Jacob Greaves scored for Ipswich in the final moments.

 

 

 

Nevertheless, Arne Slot’s team could have secured an even larger margin of victory as they moved closer to clinching the championship.

 

 

 

The match began with Liverpool setting an aggressive tone, as Gakpo sent a shot over the bar from 20 yards within the first minute.

 

 

 

The breakthrough came in the 11th minute when Ibrahima Konate located Szoboszlai, who created space for himself and struck a low shot into the corner.

 

 

 

Continuing their dominance, Liverpool doubled their lead ten minutes before halftime. Gakpo delivered a cross to the back post, where Salah controlled the ball and sent it crashing into the net.

Had little to do in the first half aside from clearing a corner while being fouled. Made a solid save from an Omari Hutchinson shot in the second half and expertly denied Enciso’s header. Could not be blamed for the late goal.

 

 

 

Trent Alexander-Arnold – 8

 

 

 

Demonstrated excellent synergy with Salah during the first half. Became more involved after halftime, delivering several dangerous crosses, including a precise ball that set up Gakpo’s second goal. Came close to scoring with a long-range effort that struck the crossbar and won numerous duels.

 

 

 

Ibrahima Konate – 8

 

 

 

Dominated Liam Delap in the first half and displayed impressive vision by assisting Szoboszlai’s opening goal. Continued to assert his dominance over Ipswich’s key player Delap after the interval.

 

 

 

Virgil van Dijk – 7

 

 

 

Navigated the first half with ease, rarely needing to exert himself in the second half.

Provided a consistent outlet on the flank during the first half, and his clever overlapping run allowed Gakpo to set up Salah’s goal. Was less involved after the break as Liverpool’s play shifted predominantly to the right side.

Initially faced some crowding but began to find space as the first half progressed, finishing his goal with confidence. He delivered a brilliant pass to Szoboszlai early in the second half and maneuvered into the box to set up Alexander-Arnold’s shot that struck the crossbar.

Had a relatively subdued first half but became more involved towards the end. Showed some improvement after the break but was unable to make the desired impact. Substituted in the final moments of the match.

 

 

 

Cody Gakpo – 9

 

 

 

Consistently sought to put Ipswich under pressure. Delivered an excellent cross for Salah’s goal and was perfectly positioned to score Liverpool’s third. Although he had to wait for his opportunities in the second half, he capitalized on one by heading in Alexander-Arnold’s cross. Substituted immediately after to a warm reception from the crowd.
