All signs point to him being close to earning his first start for Slot’s side since September and only his second overall since his move from Juventus.

That opportunity could come in the Champions League clash against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday or, perhaps more likely, in the FA Cup fourth-round tie against Plymouth on February 9.

While this perfect record is a fun piece of trivia, it’s unlikely to be something Chiesa dwells on for long, as he’ll be focused on fully integrating into the team. As for George Latham, after his historic eight-game winning streak, he only managed one more victory in his 19-game Liverpool career, leaving the club for Southport after a difficult run of results.

For Chiesa, the hope is that this achievement marks the start of a much more successful chapter at Anfield.
