Barcelona
đđď¸Barcelona captainâs agent expected to attend Vallecano clash amid contract standoffby Our teamFebruary Barcelonaâs ongoing efforts to tie down Frenkie de Jong on a new long-term deal has been well-documented.

However, the club have not seen much progress as the midfielderâs representatives are well aware of the fact that the player might have to settle for a pay cut.
Barcelona, for their part, view de Jongâs contract extension critical as the club look to not only secure the midfielderâs long-term future but also lower the cost of his salary package.
De Jongâs agents land in Barcelona
To that end, a recent report from Jijantes has indicated that de Jongâs agent, Ali Dursun, has landed in Barcelona.
Dursun was slated to meet Barcelona sporting director Deco, but the Brazilian had to leave for Porto for personal reasons.
It is not exactly specified whether or not the meeting was scheduled to discuss de Jongâs new contract, but it is apparent that Barcelona are already working on reaching an agreement with the Dutchmanâs representatives.
In any case, it appears Dursun will utilise his Barcelona trip to attend the teamâs upcoming La Liga encounter against Rayo Vallecano on Monday.
Given de Jongâs recent form, the Dutchman will make a strong case to be included in the starting eleven, ahead of Marc Casado.
However, even if de Jong fails to start, he will likely appear in the second half, where his technical ability could come in handy, should Barcelona struggle to get past the Vallecano defensive line.
Nevertheless, it is clear that the coming few months will be crucial as Deco and Dursun look to reach an agreement that may benefit all parties involved
