đŻđŻI donât think he has itâ: Liverpool fans discuss if Harvey Elliott has a future under Arne Slot
One of the few Liverpool players who has not benefitted from the arrival of Arne Slot is Harvey Elliott.
Even though the new managerâs tactics include a No.10 role Elliott prefers, the 21-year-old has not started a single Premier League game. His involvement in the league has been limited to 75 minutes across nine appearances so far
Unfortunately, Harvey does not use the rare chances he receives. His last game was the FA Cup defeat to Plymouth in which he gave away the decisive penalty.
So, the question is as follows: does Harvey Elliott have a future at Liverpool with Arne Slot in charge?
Some Liverpool fans are afraid so, although others are a bit more optimistic.
rmp266: âSlot doesnât fancy him, simple as that. Slower and not as physical as he prefers. Sad as heâs a baller when in full flow but there were always gonna be casualties when a manager changesâ
dukkha_dukkha_goose: âAnd Slot has a reputation for riding his favoured starters and being cutthroat in pushing out even fan favourites. I know Harvey wants to stay, but Iâd be surprised if he does long-term.â
13_Polo: âIt feels like every time weâve seen him this season heâs looked off, losing the ball and making errors. I do like him, but he hasnât been at his bestâ
yellow627: âI think itâs unfair to say that heâs been poor when heâs barely played. Slot clearly has his reasons for not playing him, but Iâd still like to see what Elliott can do when given a chance to play with the first teamers before I write him off
rkaminky: âI donât think he has it for Slotâs system. Slot necessitates hold-up play and the ability to beat a man on a dribble to open space. Unfortunately, those are two of Harveyâs biggest weaknesses. Love the lad, but I just donât think the team is set up for him to succeed in the same way.â
SirSwix: âJust think Slot wants way more physicality in that role compared to what Elliot offers.â
Themnor: âI donât think we will see a whole lot more of Elliot this season, but I hope we can see him level up next season and stay healthy. The injury really set him back or I think he wouldâve seen a lot more play this year

It will be amazing if he joins me here at Stamford Bridge. Even though it seems highly unlikely, it wonât kill me to try to convince him to join me here. I would very much love it if he joins meâ â This is according to Cole Palmer as he has weighed in on the speculation surrounding Kobbie Mainooâs potential move to Chelsea. The young midfielder has been the subject of transfer rumors, and Palmerâs reaction has added fuel to the ongoing discussions.
