🎯🎯I don’t think he has it’: Liverpool fans discuss if Harvey Elliott has a future under Arne Slot

One of the few Liverpool players who has not benefitted from the arrival of Arne Slot is Harvey Elliott.

Even though the new manager’s tactics include a No.10 role Elliott prefers, the 21-year-old has not started a single Premier League game. His involvement in the league has been limited to 75 minutes across nine appearances so far

Unfortunately, Harvey does not use the rare chances he receives. His last game was the FA Cup defeat to Plymouth in which he gave away the decisive penalty.

So, the question is as follows: does Harvey Elliott have a future at Liverpool with Arne Slot in charge?

Some Liverpool fans are afraid so, although others are a bit more optimistic.

rmp266: “Slot doesn’t fancy him, simple as that. Slower and not as physical as he prefers. Sad as he’s a baller when in full flow but there were always gonna be casualties when a manager changes”

dukkha_dukkha_goose: “And Slot has a reputation for riding his favoured starters and being cutthroat in pushing out even fan favourites. I know Harvey wants to stay, but I’d be surprised if he does long-term.”

13_Polo: “It feels like every time we’ve seen him this season he’s looked off, losing the ball and making errors. I do like him, but he hasn’t been at his best”

yellow627: “I think it’s unfair to say that he’s been poor when he’s barely played. Slot clearly has his reasons for not playing him, but I’d still like to see what Elliott can do when given a chance to play with the first teamers before I write him off

rkaminky: “I don’t think he has it for Slot’s system. Slot necessitates hold-up play and the ability to beat a man on a dribble to open space. Unfortunately, those are two of Harvey’s biggest weaknesses. Love the lad, but I just don’t think the team is set up for him to succeed in the same way.”

SirSwix: “Just think Slot wants way more physicality in that role compared to what Elliot offers.”

Themnor: “I don’t think we will see a whole lot more of Elliot this season, but I hope we can see him level up next season and stay healthy. The injury really set him back or I think he would’ve seen a lot more play this year
