LIVERPOOL
🏟️🚨Back in the mix!” – Trusted journalist delivers surprise Liverpool transfer update on Sunday evening

Bayern Munich are still holding out hope of signing a Liverpool star this summer.
The German champions had shown interest in Cody Gakpo earlier in the transfer window but now appear to be broadening their search for a top-quality left winger from the Premier League.
Bayern Now Eyeing Luis Diaz
While a move to Barcelona for Luis Diaz once seemed possible, it’s now looking unlikely. The Colombian winger had a standout season and won’t come cheap. Moreover, Barcelona are believed to be prioritizing Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams instead, largely due to financial constraints.
This opens the door for Bayern Munich. According to Empire of the Kop, the Bundesliga giants are now strongly considering a move for Diaz, with CF Bayern Insider’s Christian Falk reporting that Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl has shifted his focus to the Colombian attacker.
Falk notes that Real Madrid had initially reached a preliminary agreement with Diaz, but with new coach Xabi Alonso unwilling to let Rodrygo leave, that deal has collapsed—putting Bayern “suddenly in the game.”
How Much Would Diaz Cost?
Spanish journalist Guillem Balague estimates that Liverpool would demand around £100 million for Diaz. That figure likely rules out Barcelona, who are struggling to raise funds even for Nico Williams.
Still, if Diaz pushes for an exit, Liverpool might be willing to negotiate for a slightly lower fee.
Liverpool’s Stance on Diaz’s Future
Liverpool are not actively trying to sell Diaz and aren’t desperate for funds, especially following the £100 million+ signing of Florian Wirtz. The club is under no immediate pressure from Premier League financial rules.
However, there hasn’t been much movement on extending Diaz’s contract either, suggesting the door isn’t completely closed on a potential sale—if the right offer comes in and the player is open to leaving.
As of now, though, Liverpool expect the 28-year-old to stay at Anfield beyond the September 1 transfer deadline.
